Memorial Day Parade Civil War Style

Today Christian had his official first duty with the Cushing’s/Taylor’s Battery.  They marched in the Memorial Day Parade here in our local town.  They marched through town to the cemetery to where they then honored all the soldiers by firing off their cannon 3 times! 

It was AMAZING!!  And Christian had the time of his life.  He can’t wait again for their next event which is in two weeks, which will actually be a weekend long event for them.

Our boys is growing up….from playing with Tonka trucks to shooting off cannons…awwww making the parents proud!!! 

Mother's Day

Thank you Christian for being the best son a mother could ask for!  Thank you for ALWAYS being there to help out (even when you were just a wee lad!).  Thank you for cruising along with your old mother on shopping trips and giving your opinion on how something looks, even though I really know you extremely hate it (remember this is good practice for the girlfriend times and for when you get a wife someday, lol!).  Thank you for allowing me to be your mother (even though I know it's tough at times to admit I am your mother!).  Thank you for staying true to how you've been raised and the values set upon you, especially this day in age.  Lastly......thank you Christian for listening.  I love with you every being of myself. 143 always and forever!

Civil War anyone?

Confederate or Union anyone?

Well just when I thought hoped that we would have more time freed up Christian came home the other weekend from spending time with a friend Eggie (no that's not his real name but that's what we like to call him) and asked begged if he could join in with Eggie and Eggie's family in doing Civil War reinacting.  

See he'd been down at Eggie's house that weekend helping them getting the cannon ready for the season, shooting it off for the first time and they were nice enough to let C join in on the activities, so now C has the fever!  Needless to say mom is being nice enough a sucker and just went down on Thursday to sign all the paper work and dish out the

registerstration fees.  So C is now officially a member of Cushings'/Taylors' Battery!

At least we know how the Civil War turned out and now everyone will have some other pictures than soccer to look at, LOL!
