A year in review, Rhino style

Happy New Year 2010 to everyone!  We hope that 2010 brings lots of joy, good health and memorable times for you all.

I always take a minute on New Years day to reflect on the last 365 {maybe because I’m busy putting all the new year “stuff” on the calendar}.  Anyhoodle, 2009 was an interesting one to say the least.  Rhino started it off rocking away! IMG_1588 Goofing off as a teenage Rhino should be doingIMG_1627 and dreaming about turning 16 {which is only 69 days away….YIKES!!!) IMG_1677

We also as parents had the privilege to pull some pranks and surprise on our amazing 15 year old son.  Remember this….IMG_1818  Surprising Rhino with tickets to go see his favorite MLS soccer team!  Christian also got involved with Civil War Re-enactment in 2009 and spent almost the entire IMG_2460 summer away from his wonderful, loving, annoying parents {this gave us a good glimpse of how things will be when he heads off to college…ugh!}.IMG_3769 Which lead to a trip down to Penn State Main campus and seeing Rhino walk around the campus dreaming of being a PSUer, eating at Baby’s, and enjoying spending mom and dad’s money on anything that is PSU {hmmm Creamery}!

Rhino also started his Sophomore year of High School. With lots of friends, a few girlfriends, and hopefully grades that will continue to shine!IMG_4062 Soccer season started out with a bang!  IMG_3893 New coach, new beginnings and well ended up with a new ankle, LOL!  Who could forget having a lame Rhino around, his right ankle operated on by the wonderful Dr. G, the extra bone removed and physical therapy {which Christian still continues at this time} with PT Bob.IMG_4911 2009 ended up with a trip to Gettysburg during Thanksgiving with the Eggie Family {the first time that Rhino was away from home during a holiday} and time spent with family and friends, a few cousins, IMG_5544lots of Aunts and Uncles and Rhino being the first born Great Grandchild to our family being blessed with the newest Great Grandchild being born the day before Thanksgiving. That would give Nana and Papa a total of 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren {and I expect a few more to come!!}

Who knows what 2010 has to hold for the Rhino, but I do know one thing.  We’ve been blessed with a wonderful, caring, loving, understanding, co-operate boy turning into a man son that anyone would love to call their own!
